Happy September!

This month marks a milestone birthday for me, and while I normally don’t celebrate these things outwardly, I wanted to take this year to do something: specifically, to do something external, celebratory, and geared towards good.

I’m dedicating my birthday this year to filling the library carts at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with new books. From now until the end of business day on September 30th, I’m in partnership with Parnassus Books (one of the foremost independent bookstores in Nashville) to make this dream come true. I’ll be buying books for this cause, and you can, too.

Our online wishlist launches today and features some of our very favorite titles and authors. We’ve included books for every age including a few great adult books for the parents of patients. All books from the wishlist will be held in-store, and we will bring the stacks of final donations to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. If you have a special request for a title you don’t see but would like included, you’re also able to shop at Parnassus (3900 Hillsboro Pike) and have their team hold your purchase behind the desk to be included in the donation. Their entire store fits Vanderbilt’s donation guidelines of new quality, so you’re welcome to shop any book to add to the donation.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt has a library as well as a gift cart for their patients and families. Meaning, these books may be loved by many readers or may be permanently loved by just one.

As a thank you for participating, any purchase (regardless of cash value) will yield 10% off any print, half-day, or full-day shoot invoice with my company, Fenwick Photo Arts. (Clients? Are you listening? You can save a bunch of money by doing something good. We’ll both be happy about it!) Those orders need to book in September for shoot dates or print delivery dates anytime in 2019.

Thank you so much. Let’s keep doing beautiful things together.

xo,

—Laura
